We are Finally Here

We made it! After a very long day traveling, we have finally arrived in Antigua! We spent last night in Guatemala City in a darling little hostile and of course, we couldn't sleep a wink thinking about seeing that sweet baby's face the next morning. We finally each took some Advil to knock us out and did end up sleeping a bit.

This morning, Rocio, Blake's foster mom arrived along with two other women (one of whom is our facilitator while we're here). We quickly took Blake into our arms and absolutely fell in love. He is the most calm, happy and mild-tempered baby I've ever met. He is beyond gorgeous and seemed happy to see us! The women were as kind as can be and Chris madly wrote down Blake's eating and sleeping schedule while I translated! When our ride arrived to take us to Antigua, Rocio began crying and then of course, we lost it too. She has been an incredible caretaker and has done everything for that baby. We are so fortunate to have such a beautiful healthy baby.

Now, I am quickly typing this entry before Blake wakes up again - this is the first time he's let me put him down to sleep. He's been falling asleep in my arms all day long with his bottle and has been nothing but a dream. I have never felt so content staring down at the sweet little face. He is so beautiful. I wish you were all here to see him. He loves his new daddy too and laughs at him all the time. He has so many different faces and one shows his dimples so well! We are the luckiest parents in the whole world! I will write more later and of course, post more pictures. We miss you all already!
